The ITN Cell

The ITN Cell falls under the Vector Control Unit in the National Malaria Control Programme. Technical and operational support to the ITN Cell has been provided through the NETCELL project financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) since 2003. NETCELL supplies technical experts, support staff and financing to the ITN Cell.

  • Working with all key partners to develop strategies and coordinated annual work plans.
  • Facilitating and coordinating the activities of all NATNETS partners including oversight of the Ministry's contractors.
  • Developing funding proposals for submission to international donors on behalf and with full involvement from the Tanzanian Government.
  • Making official representations on ITN matters to other ministries and other relevant institutions.
  • Being the official link with private sector partners.
  • Leading national advocacy for ITNs at all levels.
  • Representing the Tanzanian ITN experience internationally, at the Roll Back Malaria Partnership and in other international meetings.
