DFID

The Department for International Development (DFID) has been supporting malaria activities in Tanzania since 2000. DFID supported the initial project of Social Marketing of Insecticides Treated Nets (SMITIN) that was implemented by Population Service International (PSI). The support was extended in the frame of the SMARTNET project. In the Under-five Catch Up campaign, DFID contributed $1.3 million for the hang up campaign. Late 2011 DFID took over funding of the Pregnant Women Voucher from the Global Fund, and for the Infant Voucher from PMI in 2012. DFID is currently funding the entire Tanzania National Voucher Scheme until March 2015.
